Please Support the Arts in Your Community
Support of the arts goes a long way to preserve and protect your investment in your home, your way of life, and your children’s futures. A community strong in art and culture will attract a more skilled work force vital to the retention of industry and the economic strength and growth of a community.
That’s what fundraising events like this golf tournament are all about. It’s difficult to find funding for intangible things like the arts in a community so overwrought with poverty. But if we are ever going to break the cycle of poverty, we need to recognize that satisfying the basic needs of food and shelter are not enough! The soul needs to be fed as well. It’s more than a cliché when said that man cannot live on bread alone! Children whose lives are rich in the arts have a much higher academic success rate, especially in math and science.
Something motivated you at some point in your life to strive to be better. PLEASE help provide that spark of motivation in a child by supporting MACA and its mission. The Monroe Area Council for the Arts has served this community for more than 20 years as the most viable resource for the advancement of the arts. MACA has recently developed an Art Alliance to support local artists and bring them together to share their creative ideas, bring more awareness of the arts to our community, and help in enabling our under-served youth in experiencing the world of art, music, poetry, drama and literature.
