Monroe Area Council for the Arts Peformance Season at Hiwassee College: MACA has been presenting an annual performance season at Hiwassee College (directions) in Madisonville since 1993. During this series, MACA aims to introduce its audience to a variety show of five performances by world-class performers.
The Moneta Theatre Series: The historic Moneta Theatre first opened in 1916 as a silent movie theatre. Over the past century, the space has undergone many transformations. In 2005, Hunter’s Bakery & Cafe renovated the property and restored it to its original use as an entertainment space. At the Moneta Theatre, MACA stages a different kind of performance series featuring acoustic performers in an intimate, casual setting.

Prices vary. Subject to availability. Tickets to individual shows may be purchased one-half hour prior to all performances.

Discounted advance tickets for MACA Performance Season shows at Hiwassee College may also be purchased at the following outlets with:
- Citizens National Bank* in Madisonville, Sweetwater, Vonore, and Tellico Plains, and the Monroe Area Council for the Arts office in Madisonville (*tickets may be purchased with cash or check only)
Discounted advance tickets for Moneta Theatre shows may be purchased at Hunter’s Bakery & Cafe in Sweetwater or the Monroe Area Council for the Arts office in Madisonville.
SEASON TICKET PRICES
As a special added value to all MACA season ticket holders, you can purchase season tickets to the Athens Area Council for the Arts at a discount. All AACA performances begin at 7:30 pm and are held at Athens Junior High School Auditorium, Athens, Tennessee.
