Rodney Crowell – Monday, October 1, 7:30 p.m.
Over the course of his career, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell has written songs for some of music’s most notable artists (Emmylou Harris, Bob Seger), collaborated with Johnny Cash, produced breakthrough albums, and charted five number one hits of his own on the Billboard charts. Long known as a poet among songwriters, Crowell is a masterful storyteller and hit generator. In 1988 he released Diamonds and Dirt, which generated an unprecedented five number-one singles, including “It’s Such a Small World,” with Rosanne Cash, his wife and partner at the time. In 2003, he was inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame between Willie Nelson and Guy Clark. His latest album, Kin, is a collaboration with bestselling memoirist and poet Mary Karr, and contains musical contributions from Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Vince Gill, Lee Ann Womack, Rosanne Cash, Chely Wright, and Emmylou Harris.
